Apple Isn’t Just Taking A Bite Out Of Premium Hardware, It’s Eating The Whole Pie
Sometimes it takes seeing something in print to really grab your attention. That’s what happened today while Rob Wright was reading the news. According to a news story from Beta News, 91 percent of every dollar and unit spent on hardware above $1,000 is captured by Apple.

Stop Me If You’ve Heard It: Acer To Focus On Servers
Say what you will about Acer but that company is brazen. Perhaps the confidence of the company is best exemplified by its CEO Gianfranco Lanci.
So what gives me the opportunity to write about my favorite company this post-Super Bowl Monday? A proclamation from on high that Acer plans to boost server sales to better compete with Dell and HP.
"You can’t be a PC player just on consumer, we need to be a PC player in all segments," Lanci told Bloomberg. "This year, you’ll see a big effort from our side on commercial."
That sound you just heard was a needle scratching a record as the music stopped.
