How ridiculous is having exclusive chargers. Imagine if you had to buy a special plug for every TV in your home?

No kidding. I have two Mac Laptops. And two different batteries.
I hear that. At this point, the number of extra batteries, chargers, what have you needs a separate bag to travel with. Anything that consolidates even a few of those is on my shopping list. Anyone else?
Cell phone companies don't make their profits on cell phones but the accessories, i.e. car chargers and whatnot. If they made a universal charger, define universal and for how long? I mean PCs for the most part have had universal power cords for decades, but laptops change their's every model and/or year line.
